How to Get Your Podcast on Stitcher in 20 Minutes or Less

| | Blog,

Android represents 60% of the market share for mobile and tablet operating systems, so if you’re not taking advantage of podcast directories outside of iTunes, you’re leaving money (and listers) on the table.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: numbers are the name of the game in the podcasting world, and racking in those views is all about finding the right platform for your content. Stitcher, being the second biggest provider for podcast is something you don’t want to pass up.

If you’re already on iTunes, Stitcher is the next step and we’ve put together this step-by-step tutorial to help you get setup in 20 minutes or less. Once you’ve submitted your feed, keep an eye on your inbox and get ready to let your listeners know they can now tune-in on the go without  having an iPhone. Android users rejoice!

What you’ll need:

  • Stitcher Content Creators account
  • Podcast RSS feed
  • Twitter handle
  • Facebook URL
  • 8-10 keywords that relate to your niche
  • Podcast category
  • Lots of patience!

Optional:

Once your content providers account is registered, it’s time to submit your show ready for review. Simply, select the “Add Shows” option at the top and make sure you fill in your show name, RSS feed, and choose your language. Here’s where your Facebook URL and Twitter handle come in handy. You’ll also want to plug in current number of listeners and 8-10 keywords that represent your niche. Not terribly complicated stuff, but it is slightly tedious.

Step 3. Submit Your Application

Now that your podcast is in the hands Stitcher, here comes the really fun part: Waiting for your show to be approved! Hey, the process might be a little nerve-wracking, but your audience will have a new venue to listen to your show, and you’ll get a new platform to strut your stuff! Review all your information to make sure it’s correct.
